Source - The US Navy SEAL who personally shot to death former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden says he has been neglected by the US government. The poverty-stricken ex-commando is now struggling to feed his family and pay for healthcare. Despite killing America’s most wanted man, the US Navy SEAL referred to only as “the Shooter” has transitioned back to a civilian life plagued by poverty. The Shooter, who remains anonymous, retired from the SEALs in September 2012, thirty-six months before the 20-year requirement for retirement benefits. And the government makes no exceptions when it comes to retirement benefits – not even for one of the Americans responsible for striking the most crushing blow against al-Qaeda.

Left without retirement benefits, the Shooter is now purchasing a private health insurance plan for $486 per month, which provides minimal coverage and fails to cover his chiropractic care. “My health care for me and my family stopped,” he said. “I asked if there was some transition from my Tricare to Blue Cross Blue Shield. They said no. You’re out of service, your coverage is over. Thanks for your sixteen years. Go f*ck yourself.”

 

Listen I don’t know much about military retirement benefits and pensions and health care and stuff like that. I’d be lying out of my asshole if I even pretended to speak about any of that with any sort of authority. But the fact that the guy who killed Osama Bin Laden is living in poverty and struggling to get by is outrageous and unacceptable. I get that he retired 36 months before he put in his 20 years but I’m pretty sure blasting rounds into the face of the world’s most sought after terrorist is a pretty good way to retire and get out of the game. Kind of like how Ray Lewis went out a champion except he probably committed a double homicide and this Navy SEAL is a hero who kills and brings mass murderers to justice.

And this wouldn’t even be an issue if he could exploit what he did. If he could just write “I merked Osama Bin Laden” on his resume or do a few daytime talk shows and star next to John Cena in a movie he’d be all set and taken care of and literally nobody in America would care that he was cashing in. But that’s not how these guys operate. They don’t want fame and fortune, they just want to keep their heads down and make sure their families are taken care of. And it’s not happening and that’s fucked up. Literally makes me sick just thinking about it.
