Source - Snoop Lion is sending off some real bad Rastaman vibrations. The hip hop star’s peculiar turn as a reincarnated reggae star has raised the ire of some in the Rastafarian culture for its lack of authenticity. Bunny Wailer — an original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers — is at the forefront of a movement to get Snoop to come clean about his recent infatuation with the Rasta culture. Bunny and members of the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council believe that the “Gin and Juice” rapper was exploiting the marijuana loving culture to help sell his docu-movie, Reincarnated, and the accompanying reggae-influenced album.

 

Yeah you tell him Bunny! You let Snoop know that Rasta culture doesn’t want any part of him. I mean seriously Snoop Dogg was probably the last person on the planet that I would envision joining a culture that focuses on consuming as much weed as possibly in a given day. Never saw that coming. Dude just waltzed into Jamaica like he owned the place torching Dutch Master’s and getting along with everyone while dropping the hottest reggae track in forever. Pretty disgusting if you think about it. I’m just glad a guy whose been touring the world for the past 30 years playing Bob Marley’s hit songs and making tens of millions of dollars off his image finally set Snoop Dogg straight on how wrong exploiting Rasta culture is.

PS – Outside of the blatant hypocrisy and stupidity of a Wailer suing somebody for expanding their cultural horizons, I think a former gangter rapper who might have probably murdered someone is the last person I’d ever try to kick out of my religion.
