Source - At this point it seems director Todd Phillips is just straight up trolling PETA with these Hangover movies. Previously he infuriated animal rights activists by dressing up the monkey from Hangover Part II and parading it in front of cameras for the premiere. (He also made a joke about the monkey getting addicted to cigarettes during filming, causing a minor uproar.) Now, in The Hangover III, Phillips serves up dark slapstick in the form of Zach Galifianakis towing a giraffe down a highway. A PETA spokesperson tells us, “PETA is hopeful that the giraffe used in the film is 100 percent computer-generated instead of a live animal, and we are in touch with Warner Bros. now. The technology is readily available, and although Todd Phillips has used wild animals in his movies before, we’re hopeful that’s not the case this time around. Giraffes are extremely delicate creatures who are easily stressed. A giraffe used in Zookeeper died during production.”

Serious question, Does PETA know that there wasn’t an actual giraffe that had to get it’s head chopped off for this movie? Like do they know about special effects and CGI or other shit like that? That Zach Galifianakis didn’t cause a 40 car pile up with some African zoo animal? I’m about 90% sure they aren’t sure. I wouldn’t be surprised whatsoever if you went digging and found out they protested like Jurassic Park: The Lost World for the ethical treatment of dinosaurs or something. Picketing Steven Speilberg fighting for the T-Rex’s right to roam free in downtown San Diego uninhibited eating motherfuckers left and right. Fucking PETA.
