Remember When Shannon Sharpe Said Cutler Was A “Coach Killer”, Yeah Well Bruce Arians Disagreed With All Of That And He’s Actually A Coach
Shannon Sharp on January 7th
”Jay Cutler, I do not believe he is a leader of men,” Sharpe told the show’s panel of James Brown, Bill Cowher and Dan Marino. ”He’s a quarterback, not a leader. And there’s a difference.”
”So you’re saying he’s a coach killer?” Sharpe nodded in the affirmative.
That’s a familiar refrain regarding Cutler. In fact, Cowher and Marino were critical of Cutler’s leadership earlier this season, after Cutler shoved left tackle J’Marcus Webb in the Bears’ 23-10 loss to the Packers on a Thursday night game at Lambeau Field in Week 2.”I think it’s a problem,” Cowher said. ”The guy’s got a strong arm. There is no question about it. He’s had some protection issues. I know there’s been some questionable [play] calling. But they brought players in to help this guy win a championship, and he’s going to prove to be more accountable — not sensationalize every little mistake with his antics and body language.
Bruce Arians Yesterday
We talked for an hour and a half, I felt really comfortable with Jay,” Arians said. “Of the guys I’ve met in a long time, [Cutler] wants to win, and he wants to do whatever it takes to win. He’s willing to put in the time. “I asked him about the commitment to learn, and he wants to win, and he’ll do anything. He’s as talented as anybody in the league, and he’s more than committed to make sure that gets done.”
The likely Associated Press Coach of the Year, the Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator stepped in as interim head coach last season when Chuck Pagano was battling leukemia. The Colts, 2-14 in 2011, finished 11-5 with Arians leading the way, bolstering his reputation as a developer of quarterbacks and receivers, most notably Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Plaxico Burress and Andrew Luck.
Arians was aware of the different criticisms of Cutler, but he wasn’t concerned about any of that. “There’s no doubt,” Arians said of Cutler, “he was the type of leader I wanted on offense to get it done.”
Hmmm, that’s odd Shannon. You just spewed a bunch of bullshit with NO evidence, and NO justification, then when you’re basically told you’re wrong by someone who is actually a Coach, you know the exact person Cutler is allegedly supposed to “kill”, we don’t hear a word? Now isn’t that weird. Because wasn’t it just Sunday that you were blabbing about accountability, and how Bill Belichick ducks press conferences after losses? How he doesn’t own up when things get tough? When he’s in the wrong?
So if I’m following my line of logic, which I should be able to do because its mine and I’m not a horse faced pretentious moron, you’re not only incredibly dumb but also a complete hypocrite. I mean this is exactly what throwing shit against the wall and hoping it sticks means. You literally just spew garbage out of your mouth and HOPE you’re right, and if you’re not, who cares right? Because Shannon Sharpe never has to admit to being wrong. He’s just a “hilarious” guy, shooting from the hip. Well Shannon, that’s bullshit. As good as you were at football, that’s how bad you are at being a commenter. You know it, I know it, and the whole world knows it. Now lets just hope the CBS producers figure it out someday.
Oh and you have a girl’s name. Boom Roasted.
Watchdog Out.

Sharpe talks so horribly bad, I can’t understand what he says even when I read it.
Solid. The lack of accountability in sports “journalism” is what makes it all so horrific to watch. Keep calling them out BigCat, solid fucking work.
1. Shannon Sharp
2. Steve Young
3. Any noise that comes out of Terry Bradshaw’s mouth
i really hope you do an expose on skip bayless soon. someone needs to cut that asshole down
Fuck Shannon Sharp
You know he wore those glasses taking a shit too. Giving himself kisses in the plastic mirror.
why is Bruce Arians talking about Jay Cutler? What am I missing?
The combo of Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith is the worst fucking thing in the world. The only thing that could make it worse is adding Shannon Sharpe.
Shannon not so fucking Sharpe is a mumbling marble mouthed moron. How the fuck they allow that tard to be on television is beyond comprehension. He either has pictures of Marino and Brown post fuck cuddling or he waxes a mean studio floor before the show.
Is there a reason the new Cardinals coach is discussing leadership, desire to win, and commitment with the Bears QB? Shouldn’t he be discussing this with the Kolb-Skelton-Other random guy trio?
He’s talking about cutler because he finished second for the bears job and reporters in az were asking him about that interviewing process
Bears trading Cutler to Cardinals.
Of course you don’t mention the credibility of the Super Bowl winning coach Bill Cowher saying even more bad about Cutler than Shannon Sharpe. So since Superbowl>>>going 9-3 I would weigh Cowher’s opinion stronger than Arians. As for your singling out of Shannon Sharp, everyone has witnessed Jay Cutler’s attitude problem and you’re reasoning is to ignore that and make fun of the facial structure of a hall of famer tight end with three rings on his hand. Hmm, sounds like your slightly biased, not at all objective, and reacting with emotion rather than reason. How old are you again?
Cutler’s not a coach killer, he’s a team killer. The Bears defensive and occasionally the special teams all but hand Cutler a victory every week and he still is mediocre at best. What’s the old saying?.. Million dollar arm and a 2 cent head”. That is Jay in a nutshell.
Cutler is a fine QB (most Packer fans will agree) and a pretty good blogger. Championship quality QB? Meh. And I think it’s time Shannon Sharp gets sub-titles just like Honey Boo-Boo.
I worked the Chicago Bears’s training camp last summer. After practice the players would sign autographs and I came across a young kid who was handicapped, obviously not all together mentally, and in a wheel chair and the kid claimed the only autograph he wanted was Cutler’s. Wheeled him over to Cutler and repeated what the kid said to me. Cutler looked me in the eye and said “sorry, i don’t have time,” and walked straight to the lockers. Guy is a certified asshole.
poppasmurf, why did you work at training camp, presumably for free, instead of a charity? Is it because you wanted to do something and didn’t have time to help the less fortunate? You are a certified asshole
stooltothechi – what are you talking about? Did poppasmurff claim to be a selfless supporter of the less fortunate among us? No, he simply related a personal experience that proves (assuming he’s telling the truth) Jay Cutler is an unbelievably cold hearted prick.
of course arians is going to suck cutler. all coaches praise the other players in the league. even asshole bill bigs up the rest of the league.
not an indictment of cutler though, as he has the talent to win, but the guy needs a better combo than meathead tice calling plays and shitty protection
@stooltothechi the camp is in my town, literally could walk there. And no, I got paid. Everything you said is wrong, and also makes you sound like a jagbag.
poppasmurf – what you were doing there and whether or not you were paid has nothing to do with the point of your story, which is that Jay Cutler is a bad person (allegedly).
poppasmurf, Jay does charity work all over the city, but he’s a private person and doesn’t want any attention towards him. He was ripped for that by Rick Reily before the NFC Championship game in 2011, look for the article. Don’t let one moment define a person.
Aaron Rodgers walked by a breast cancer survivor asking for an autograph that same week, is he an asshole too?
Dwayne, a breast cancer survivor is an adult; big difference between a fully functioning adult and a handicapped/retarded child! How long does it take to sign your name on a ball or whatever? 20 seconds? I am not saying one bad decision should define a person, but…can you imagine yourself saying “I don’t have time” to a kid like that?
poppasmurf: That handicapped kid was actually just Eric the Actor fooling an easy mark.
