At this point if I was an NFL running back or wide receiver I would go down the minute Peanut got within 10 yards of me.

Here was yesterday’s first quarter. Blocked punt for a touchdown. Hester 44 yard return to set up a Forte Touchdown. Urlacher’s 46 yard interception return for a touchdown. Peanut forced fumble which led to a Cutler to Marshall touchdown.

That was just the first quarter. Every phase of the game scoring points, just in the first quarter. That’s how good the Bears were yesterday. One of the most complete beat downs I have ever seen in my life. Can’t even fault the offense for not putting up a long drive and doing their characteristic slow start, including that totally predictable safety on J-Webb. Because at the end of the day how can you criticize anyone or anything after a game like that? Cutler ended up 19 for 26 with 3 tds. Marshall had 122 yards and 3 touchdowns and Forte had 103 yards on just 12 carries. Just unreal stuff all the way around.

And I know we’ll hear the same thing we’ve heard all season long. The Bears haven’t played anyone. Well guess what. I don’t give a fuck. The Bears D is dominating on a different level right now. 8 touchdowns on Defense and special teams. EIGHT. Do you know how many meaningful non-garbage time touchdowns this D has given up? FIVE. Through 8 games this D has given up just 5 meaningful touchdowns. I don’t care who you’re lining up against, that is almost incomprehensible. So let the hater’s hate. Like I said yesterday, anyone who has watched this team for even 1 quarter knows that they’re for real. Yes the O-Line still has some issues. Yes Tice can be an absolute moron at times. And yes Cutler needs to limit turnovers. But that’s the thing with this NFL season. It’s wide open. No team is flawless. The Falcons are 8-0 but they’ve looked totally average against teams like the Raiders, and the Panthers. So I’ll take 7-1, inside track to a bye, best defense in the league, and an offense that has shown the ability to come up big all day everyday. Sunday night can’t get here soon enough.

Outside of maybe the Steelers there is no fan base that travels like the Bears. I’m not even joking when I say over half the stadium was Bears fans.
