I Can’t Believe People Are Still Falling For These Fake Facebook Legal Privacy Posts
A new Facebook hoax has duped some users into thinking they have legal ownership of photos, videos, messages and other content posted to their pages. They don’t. The post, which has recently popped up in some users timelines, says: “In response to the new Facebook guidelines I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details, illustrations, comics, paintings, professional photos and videos, etc. (as a result of the Berner Convention). For commercial use of the above my written consent is needed at all times!”
The messages encourages the users friends to post the message on their own walls and then says, “By the present communique, I notify Facebook that it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, disseminate, or take any other action against me on the basis of this profile and/or its contents.” In fact, there are no “new Facebook guidelines,” the “Berner Convention” is a bungled reference to the Berne Convention — a 126-year-old international copyright policy — and users are still bound by the terms and conditions set by Facebook during sign up, according to a Times of India report.

Have people seen this going around today? Unreal. Literally unreal. Like you know how people will point to reality television, or American Obesity, or video games as the downfall of our society? Well none of that compares to this shit. People who actually believe that these things are real are why we’re all fucked as a society.
Remember back in the day when everyone was using AOL Instant Messenger and you had 1 or 2 friends that would always send you those messages, “AIM is auditing all accounts for activity, post this message and send to 10 friends or else your account will be deleted”. And you thought, holy shit, how fucking stupid is this person? And that was when you were ELEVEN years old? And now we’re all in our 20′s and we’re still falling for this shit? Jesus Christ. I know I tend to exaggerate from time to time but if you actually fall for this shit you need to kill yourself because your grasp on common sense is so far out of wack that you’ll probably end up dying in some horrific fluke accident on your own. Just throw in the towel and realize you’re beat in life and you’re probably worth more to your family dead than alive.
Honestly, people who click on virus videos (OMG, Katy Perry’s Boobs pop out on this roller coaster!!!) and post these clearly fake messages are a burden to us all. No different than old people and children. Just a suck on society. Literally mind bottling that people can be so stupid.
