(Source) Former Chicago Bear Tommie Harris was arrested in Wrigleyville overnight and charged with indecent exposure and threatening a police officer, officials said. Harris was arrested in the 1000 block of West Eddy Street shortly before midnight, according to Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan. He was charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, urinating in public and simple assault. The simple assault charge was for threatening an officer, Sullivan said.

Harris, a former No. 1 draft pick of the Bears in 2004 out of Oklahoma, was a three-time Pro Bowl performer and a force in the middle of the defensive line for the 2006 Bears team that reached Super Bowl XLI. Slowed by knee and hamstring problems, he was released by the Bears in February 2011. Harris has been out of football since being let go by the San Diego Chargers after the 2011 season. Harris played in 13 games for the Chargers last season and had three sacks.

Last February, Harris lost his wife Ashley, who died suddenly at 29 of a suspected brain aneurysm, leaving behind two young children. The couple had married on New Year’s Day. Harris was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 27.

Is this a joke? Public urination in Wrigleyville? Seriously? So I guess the police can just make up laws that don’t exist now. Arrest people for whatever they feel like. I mean if you’re going to arrest people for peeing in the Wrigleyville alleys they may as well start detaining people who breath air or blink.  I honestly don’t think I’ve ever gone to Wrigley and not pissed in an alley. Not even exaggerating. I used to live in Wrigleyville and I still would piss in alleys when I was 1 block from home.

Its like one of those unwritten rules that everyone adheres to. Don’t bunt to break up a no-hitter, the captain of a sinking ship stays with the ship, step on a crack break your mama’s back, all French men have vaginas, and every alley in Wrigleyville is virtually a bathroom. Just makes no sense to arrest someone for this. What are we animals?
