Kansas City - Kansas officials are reviewing the events surrounding a man’s accidental shooting of his wife last week at the Longbranch Steakhouse in Lenexa. Police said the two were sitting across from each other in a booth about 8:15 p.m. Jan. 2 when the man reached into his front pants pocket and accidentally discharged a small pistol, striking his wife in the leg just above the knee. She was treated at a hospital and released. The man had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon, said Officer Dan Friesen of the Lenexa Police Department. But Kansas law does not allow people to carry concealed weapons if they are under the influence of alcohol. It is a Class A misdemeanor. Friesen said the Johnson County district attorney’s office was reviewing the case to decide whether to file a charge. He said the Kansas attorney general’s office will also review the case to determine whether to revoke the man’s concealed-carry permit.

I don’t really like to throw my hat in the ring when it comes to serious topics like gun control. To be totally honest I have no idea which side is right. Those against it say it’s infringing on their rights and that firearms help arm and protect you from fucking lunatics. Makes sense to me. On the other side people are for it because the less guns that are out there, the less chance said fucking lunatic gets his hands on one in the first place. In my brain both of those check out.

But here’s the thing. The people that love and own guns are usually pretty handy with them. They understand how to use them. If normal people like me started doing conceal and carry this accidental shooting shit would be happening all the time. I’d accidentally shoot myself in the dick probably immediately. Try to put the gun in my waistline like a hardo and blast my cock all over the floor. Or try to squeeze into a seat on the couch and fire off a few rounds into the leg of the person sitting next to me. Every time I get uncomfortable and change my positioning or reach for some Doritos there’d be at least a 50% chance someone gets murdered by mistake. The jails would be overflowing with idiots who Plaxico’d themselves serving 2 year bids because we didn’t know what the fuck we were doing.

So yeah, I see both sides of the debate. But I don’t trust most people with getting me a beer out of the fridge. Probably never leave my room again if everyone was packing heat wherever you go.
