Blackhawks Break Record For Best Start In NHL History
I’m happy we got this record. Any time you start to flirt with a new record in any sport you’d like your team to close the deal and write themselves into the history books. But, with that said, I think we can all agree that this will be a meaningless mark if Lord Stanley’s isn’t back in Chicago full of beer at The Pony on Belmont on a random June morning. So that’s what this. Either a great start to an even greater season, or a meaningless footnote to what should have been. Guess time will tell.

Hahaha 3 years, great sample size. A team winning the cup doesn’t make the conference inherently tougher. Chicago has had the luxury of playing a bunch of mediocre teams with records hovering around .500. Played two top teams; lost to Anaheim and split with Vancouver.
I’m just saying, the other 3 teams with the previous best starts all won the cup, and now we have the best start ever….

Hawks went 12-3-3 vs. the mighty eastern conference last year and this years team is playing significantly better. With teams like Winnipeg, Washington, and the Islanders its amazing that the eastern teams can make it through a season alive.

The Western Conf is a faster more skilled/open game IMO, the Eastern teams are more physical/grindy.
Not to take away from talent in the east, there are alot of very skilled guys, but on the whole, west is best.
